WOPHA’s work is vital for amplifying underrepresented voices in photography and reshaping the art world through a more inclusive, global lens.
WOPHA (Women Photographers International Archive) is a Miami-based nonprofit dedicated to rewriting the artistic canon by spotlighting the contributions of women and non-binary photographers worldwide.
Founded by Aldeide Delgado, WOPHA began as a catalog of Cuban women photographers and has since evolved into a global platform for research, exhibitions, and education. Through initiatives like the WOPHA Congress—co-hosted with Pérez Art Museum Miami—and partnerships with institutions across the Americas, WOPHA fosters critical dialogue on feminism, decolonization, and visual storytelling. By preserving overlooked histories and nurturing emerging talent, WOPHA is not only reshaping the narrative of photography but also positioning Miami as a vibrant nexus for inclusive, global photographic discourse.
